  • Main School Prospective Parents’ Evening for Year 7 Entry: Thursday 24 September 2010 6.30 – 8.00pm.  School closes at 1.05pm: no lessons at Wood Green School in the afternoon.  Abingdon and Witney College and Henry Box School lessons. No taxi to AWC/HBS.
  • UCAS Applications: 3 November WGS deadline for guarantee of submission of applications to UCAS by their UCAS deadline
  • Academic Review Interviews: Thursday 12 November. Lessons in the morning only. Individual student-tutor appointments for Sixth Form. Students may undertake private study in school and must sign in at the front desk. Lessons at AWC and HBS as normal and the taxi service to HBS/AWC will be running
  • Academic Awards Evening: Friday 20 November 7pm Presentation of public examination certificates to students who were in Years 11 and 13 in 2008-9 academic year and award of subject and special prizes to these yeargroups and former Year 12 students.
  • Examination Certificates: may be collected from the Examinations Officer from Monday 23 November (if not collected at Academic Awards Evening)
  • Year 12 and 13 Reports to Parents: 19 December
  • Sixth Form Christmas Disco: Thursday 17 December 7.00 - 10.00pm
  • Introduction to Sixth Form Open Evening (for 2010-11 Entry to Sixth Form): new date: Monday 25 January 6.30 - 8.30pm. 7.00pm presentations in the Hall.
  • UCAS Applications - UCAS deadline 15 January
  • Year 12 Subject Evening: Thursday 28 January 2010 by appointment 4.30 – 7.30pm in the Sixth Form and Restaurant
  • AS Certificates Award Ceremony: Friday 5 February 2010  8.45-9.45am. Year 13 parents welcome
  • Year 13 Subject Evening: Thursday 11 February 2010 by appointment 4.30 – 7.30pm in the Sixth Form and Restaurant
  • Sixth Form Photo: Friday 12 February 8.30am.
  • Years 12-13 Reviews to Parents: 1 April 2010
  • Sixth Form Picnic and Swim: 7 May 3.00-5.00pm - to be confirmed
  • Year 12 Study Leave: Commences Monday 17 May and finishes Friday 11 June. No lessons are held during this period and the taxi service to HBS & AWC does not run, though their lessons may continue.
  • Year 13 Last Day & Leavers' Ball: Friday 21 May 2010. No further A2 lessons at WGS (normally after Period 3). Study and examination leave commence.Taxi service finishes for Yr 13 (though their finish dates may be different)
  • Year 12 Return to School & A2 lessons commence 14 June: Students must achieve a minimum of 80% attendance in order to pursue their subjects in Year 13. Taxi recommences
  • Year 12 Birmingham University trip: 24 June
  • Year 11-12 Induction: 28,29 & 30 June. Normally two days of taster lessons, the opportunity to meet tutors, teachers and tutor groups, decide on subject options and a day trip on the last day.
  • Year 12 Cambridge University trip: TBA
  • Consortium Higher Education Evening: 7 July  7.00-8.30pm, Year 12 parents are invited to attend this evening led by a speaker from Birmingham University. In 2010 this will be held at The Henry Box School
  • Examination Results AS/A2 Thursday 19 August: (normally A2 results first 10.00-11.00am then AS results 11.00am-12.00pm)
  • AS/A2 Advice Clinic: Friday 20 August 9.00am - 12.00pm. Drop in, no appointment necessary
  • Examination Results GCSE: Tuesday 24 August
  • GCSE Advice Clinic: Wednesday 25 August 9.00am - 12.00pm
  • Year 12 and 13 first day of school TBA September 2010
