Our belief is that Wood Green School is about students and our
commitment to the development of the whole child is reflected in our
excellent pastoral care. Individual needs are best met through secure,
positive relationships between staff and students. Teaching and learning are
supported by academic tutors who also offer guidance and advice to students
entrusted to their care.
- Every student at Wood Green School knows their Minimum Target Grade and preferred learning style
- Each student meets regularly with their academic tutor to review their progress, set personal targets and evaluate their successes.
The academic tutor plays a key role in each student’s welfare and academic development, and is also responsible for liaising with parents through a variety of means, such as Review Days and reports.
Wood Green School offers students a broad, balanced and flexible curriculum, which is challenging and enables each individual to fulfil their potential. The curriculum affords students a wealth of academic, vocational and extra-curricular opportunities as well as enabling them to take responsibility for personalising their own learning.
As students progress through the school, they are encouraged and enabled to take appropriate pathways which best suit their own educational needs. They are guided and supported in making these choices by teaching staff and academic tutors.
